What does an indoor/outdoor run mean?
My Pet’s Place has the unique set up of being an indoor/outdoor kennel and that means each of our runs has a connected indoor and outdoor area for your pet to enjoy! During the day your pet can lounge outside and enjoy the sun or be indoors cuddling up on their bed. The top of the kennels are covered so your pet is not exposed to the weather when it rains or snows. A standard run at My Pet’s Place is 3.5 ft by 20 ft. There is a lot to see, smell and bark at while boarding and it is normal for your dog to be tired after leaving!
What does an indoor only run mean?
Here at My Pet’s Place, we also offer “Indoor Only Runs”. We have a climate controlled facility that houses indoor kennels without an outdoor access, lined with plexi glass. These kennels have a modernized feel and are large and cozy. Dogs that board in these runs are rotated frequently and given just as much cuddle time as our indoor/outdoor pups!
Is there a specific time that I need to drop my dog off at?
No, while we always encourage you to plan for extra drop off time, we do not require specific times to drop off your pet. Please note our business hours as pets are not permitted to be dropped off outside of those times.
Is there a specific time that I need my pet to be picked up at?
Yes, we have a check out time of noon. We do allow people to pick their pets up after our noon check out time. However, we do charge an additional $15 per dog.
Can I have a friend pick up or drop off my pet?
Yes. We understand that sometimes other people will need to do this for you but there are some questions that a friend may not know the answer to. If you are having a friend drop off your pet please fill out your pet’s feeding and medication information on your online portal, or give us a call to go over information ahead of time.
What should I bring for my pet’s stay?
Please, leave all blankets, bedding and food dishes at home as we cannot guarantee the return of any personal items. All of our runs are furnished with a Kuranda bed, which is a cot-like bed that is a few inches off the ground. Toys that are bigger than a tennis ball are welcome — but please only bring one or two toys.
Can I bring my pet’s own food?
Yes you may. We do ask that you portion your pet’s food into individual serving sizes. This ensures that we feed your pet the exact way you do at home and that enough food has been provided for their entire stay. We always recommend if your pet has food allergies or sensitive stomach to bring your own food and to inform the front desk at drop off of those allergies. My Pet’s Place can provide food at no additional cost if preferred. We do charge a $10 storage fee for large dog food bags and $3 per night for refrigerated foods.
I have a pet that requires medication, is there an extra charge?
Yes, for oral or food additives it is an extra $1.00 per administration and pill. That means even if your pet has three pills in the morning, it will only $3.00 per day. If a medication is twice a day, the cost will be $6.00 per day. Please make sure to bring your pet’s medication in the original bottle.Please note: We are not responsible for ensuring your pet takes their meds if you put them in their food bags.
I am thinking about signing my dog up for group play. Do dogs ever get hurt?
Although we do our best to minimize any injury to your dog, during normal play a dog may get small scratches, nicks, and lose small patches of fur. Although rare, it is possible for more serious injuries to occur. We do treat any wounded animals at Redstone Animal Hospital and cover any exam fees, granted your pet was injured at My Pet’s Place. The owner is responsible for any medication prescribed.
My dog doesn’t like other dogs. Can they still come?
Yes, unlike some other kennels that require all pets to socialize together, we do have packages that cater to older dogs, or dogs that prefer the affection of humans rather than other dogs. If this describes your pet, we offer the active dog packages.
How many dogs are allowed in Group Play at one time?
To keep a safe play environment, we maintain staffing ratios of one staff member for every 15 dogs. Our maximum allowed out in the dog park at one time is 15 dogs. In the event that we have more than 15 dogs, we will rotate dogs into several groups until all have received the amount of play they have been signed up for.
Why is my pet required to be vaccinated prior to boarding?
We take our vaccination requirements very seriously at My Pet’s Place. We are not only concerned with the health of your pet but also with the health of all the other animals your pet may come in contact with while boarding with us. When making a reservation, the front desk will let you know what vaccination information, if any, we have on file for your pet, and when we show those vaccinations are due to expire. However, it is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that My Pet’s Place has the required proof of vaccinations prior to boarding. We cannot allow an animal into our boarding facility that is not in compliance with our vaccination requirements.
